Walking for a Cause That Matters
At Vemco Group, we believe purpose often starts with something simple - like taking a walk. That’s why this November 2025, we’re supporting our colleague Jacob Burrows and his four-legged friend Smithy in their 100-mile (≈161 km) walking challenge to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
We’ve named this initiative “Because Every Step Counts,” a symbolic reminder that even the smallest actions can make a meaningful difference - especially when they come from the heart.
Turning Steps into Support
Every donation makes a difference. For example, £25 could buy 500 plastic test tubes, 5 boxes of gloves, 5 beakers, or even a Bunsen burner - the understated tools behind countless experiments that help change lives, source: Cancer Research UK.
To make this journey even more engaging, Vemco Group has also launched an internal “Guess the Miles” challenge, where colleagues from around the world can take part by donating and predicting how far Jacob and Smithy will walk by the end of the month.
