The company was founded in 2005 by Anel Turkanovic and remains privately owned. Vemco Group A/S serves as the group parent and holds a majority shareholding in each of its ten local operating entities worldwide — including Vemco Group AB (Sweden) and Vemco Group Ltd (United Kingdom) — through which the group conducts its international operations.

Certifications and quality standards

Vemco Group operates a documented Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and the ISO/IEC 27002:2022 control set (93 controls across the Organizational, People, Physical, and Technological themes). While the company does not currently hold a formal ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification, it maintains a board-approved suite of security policies and standards covering:

The company also assesses the applicability of the EU AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, and DORA, and processes international data transfers only through lawful mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, EU standard contractual clauses, or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
