TDI — sensor setup, firmware upgrade & remote access guide
This guide covers first-time setup, login credentials, camera calibration, firmware upgrade, and remote access for TDI TD2000 and TD1501 sensors. Source: TDI EMEA Wiki (emea.tdintelligence.wiki).

First-time setup — Camera Configuration
Connect your computer to the same network as the sensor
Open a browser and go to
192.168.1.8(or the sensor's assigned IP)Log in with admin credentials above
Navigate to Camera Config
Step 1 — Section Frame
The Section Frame defines the area the camera uses to automatically calculate its height and tilt. Draw a rectangle in the live view over the counting zone floor area. This enables the system to correctly calculate sensor height and tilt for accurate counting.
Step 2 — Set mounting height
Enter the actual mounting height (floor to sensor). Must be accurate to ±5cm. Incorrect height causes miscounts. Use a laser distance meter for best results.
Step 3 — Configure counting lines and zones
Draw counting lines in the scene view where people cross when entering/exiting. For wide entrances, use multiple sensors with Path Linking (TD2000B: up to 3 sensors; TD2000 G2/G3: up to 5 sensors).
Step 4 — Verify counting
Check the live count display. Walk through the entrance to verify counts increment correctly in both directions.
Firmware upgrade
Download the correct firmware for your sensor model from the TDI EMEA Wiki → Firmwares section (partner login required)
Connect your computer to the same network as the sensor
Log in to the sensor web interface
Navigate to Advanced Settings → Firmware Upgrade
Upload the firmware file and confirm the upgrade
Wait for the sensor to reboot — do not interrupt during upgrade
After reboot, verify the firmware version in the device info page
Always download firmware from the official TDI wiki. Using incorrect firmware for your model can brick the device. If upgrade fails, check the upgrade logs in Advanced Settings and contact TDI support.
Latest stable firmware (as of June 2026)
TD2000B G3 | TD2000BG3_1.1.56_1.2.178_1.1.91P — stable as of February 2026 |
Other models | Check TDI EMEA Wiki → Firmwares for current stable releases per model |
Remote access — Remote Control Server (RCS)
The RCS enables remote management and troubleshooting of sensors from anywhere with internet access, without needing a VPN.
Ensure the sensor is on the latest firmware
Ensure the sensor has a stable internet connection and correct DNS settings
Log in to the RCS portal at rcs-uk.tdintelligence.com
If you don't have an RCS account, contact TDI support
Bind the device to your RCS account — with latest firmware this is automatic via self-service
The public TDI Euro RCS server is for testing only. For production deployments, TDI recommends setting up an On-Premise RCS — see the On-Prem RCS guide in the TDI wiki R&D Center.
Network and firewall
TDI sensors need outbound internet access for RCS remote management. The sensor network guide is in TDI wiki → Technical → Guides → Sensor Network and Firewall rules. Key requirements:
Outbound access to the RCS server domain (
rcs-uk.tdintelligence.com)For data push to Vemtrack: outbound to the Vemtrack ingestion endpoint
Default sensor IP
192.168.1.8— change to your network's IP scheme during installation
Mounting accessories
Recessed mount | For ceiling recessed installation of TD2000 Series — guide available in Accessories section of TDI wiki |
Surface mount | For TD1001, TD1002, and TD2000 Series surface ceiling mount |
Outdoor mount | For TD2000 G3 outdoor deployments — IP-rated weatherproof housing |
3D outdoor mount | For outdoor TD2000 installations — see guide in TDI wiki → Technical → Guides |
