Milesight smart restroom & bathroom sensors — setup guide

Milesight smart restroom sensors connect via LoRaWAN to Vemcount IoT dashboards. All sensors in this group are battery-powered, wireless, and designed for commercial bathroom environments — hotels, shopping malls, airports, office buildings. Gateway required: Milesight UG65/UG67 or SG50 pushing to ttn.vemcount.app UDP 1700.

VS373 — Radar Fall Detection Sensor

The most advanced sensor in the restroom range. Uses 4D 60GHz millimeter-wave radar (MIMO array: 24 TX + 22 RX) for contactless monitoring — no camera, 100% privacy compliant.

    Technology

    4D mmWave 60GHz radar + AI algorithms

    Fall detection accuracy

Up to 99% capture rate, <1% false alarm rate

    Connectivity

    LoRaWAN + WiFi

    Detection functions

Fall detection, motionless/overstay detection, bed presence monitoring (single and multi-bed), room occupancy, sub-region occupancy

    Alert system

3-phase alert: Confirmation (red LED slow flash) → First Alert (red LED fast + buzzer) → Emergency (report sent)

    Privacy

100% — no camera, no images, only radar point cloud data

    Mounting

Ceiling mount. USB-C powered. Side cable non-removable.

    D2D support

Yes — direct integration with other Milesight devices (alarms, door locks) without gateway

    Use cases

Nursing home rooms, hospital wards, accessible/smart public restrooms, hotel rooms, elderly care facilities

Beyond fall detection the VS373 also supports sub-region independent occupancy, so a single sensor can monitor different zones of a room simultaneously.

    VS330 — Bathroom Occupancy Sensor

Dedicated LoRaWAN occupancy sensor for restroom cubicle/stall monitoring. Detects whether a toilet stall is occupied or vacant. Enables real-time display boards showing which stalls are free, and tracks cleaning cycle triggers based on usage counts.

    Technology

    Infrared / radar occupancy sensing

    Connectivity

    LoRaWAN

    Use cases

Toilet stall occupancy dashboards, cleaning trigger automation, restroom usage analytics

    GS301 — Bathroom Odor Detector (4-in-1)

Detects odor gases and environmental conditions simultaneously — ideal for triggering automatic ventilation in restrooms and monitoring hygiene levels.

    Sensors

Ammonia (NH₃) + Hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) via electrochemical principle + Temperature + Humidity

    Alert

LED traffic light indicator + built-in buzzer + LoRaWAN uplink when NH₃ or H₂S exceeds threshold (customizable)

    D2D / HVAC control

Supports Milesight D2D for direct, ultra-low-latency HVAC control without a gateway — when NH₃/H₂S rises, the ventilation activates automatically

    Mounting

Wall mount. Damp-proof coating for bathroom environments.

    Use cases

Hotel/mall bathroom ventilation control, hygiene monitoring, odor alerting

WS201 — Smart Fill Level Monitoring Sensor

Monitors how full toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers, and paper towel holders are — triggering alerts when supplies run low so cleaning staff only visit when needed.

    Technology

Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance measurement. Blind zone: 1cm minimum.

    Battery

Up to 2 years on one coin cell battery

    Mounting

Ultra-thin body, 3M adhesive. Works inside metal toilet paper boxes. Damp-proof coating.

    Configuration

NFC via Milesight ToolBox app. Set % thresholds (not distance calculation)

    Schedule hibernate

Auto-sleep during closing hours (e.g. 22:00–09:00) to save battery

    Use cases

Toilet paper level monitoring in malls/hotels/airports, soap dispenser fill alerts, paper towel dispensers

    WS301 — Magnetic Contact Switch (Door/Window)

Detects open/close state of bathroom stall doors, utility room doors, or cabinet access. Can be used as a low-cost stall occupancy indicator or for security access monitoring.

    Battery life

    Over 4 years

    Tamper detection

Yes — alerts if device is removed from mounting

    Compatibility

    Various door/window materials and types

    Use cases

Stall door open/close monitoring, utility room access, restroom entrance counting trigger

WS303 — Mini Leak Detection Sensor

Detects the presence of water or other conductive liquids on the floor — for early warning of pipe leaks, overflow, or flooding in wet environments.

    Detection

Water conductivity — detects minimum 0.5mm water level via gold-plated probes. Also detects other conductive liquids.

    Battery

Up to 5 years on 1× CR2450 590mAh coin cell

    Enclosure

    IP67 — waterproof and dustproof

    Alert

Built-in buzzer (local) + LoRaWAN uplink (remote). Capacitor storage for power-failure alarm.

    Mounting

Surface or wall mount — compact, wire-free

    Use cases

Under-sink leak detection, bathroom floor flooding, pipe burst monitoring, server room water intrusion

    GS601 — Vape Detector

Detects vaping/e-cigarette aerosol in enclosed spaces where smoking is prohibited — bathroom stalls, changing rooms, school toilets.

    Detection

    Vape/e-cigarette aerosol detection

    Connectivity

    LoRaWAN

    Alerts

    Local + LoRaWAN uplink alarm

    Use cases

School bathrooms, hotel rooms, shopping mall restrooms, change rooms — anywhere vaping is prohibited

    Connecting to Vemcount

All sensors connect via a Milesight LoRaWAN gateway (UG65, UG67, or SG50). The gateway pushes data to Vemcount at ttn.vemcount.app UDP port 1700. Sensor data appears in the Vemcount IoT dashboard as occupancy states, fill level percentages, gas concentrations, and event alerts. Configure threshold-based notifications in Vemcount for automated cleaning dispatch and maintenance alerts.
