This guide explains how to map CSV columns correctly when importing footfall data into Vemcount.

During mapping, the Date/Time field uses PHP time format notation. Common format examples are included below for quick reference during the import process.

Column mapping follows an A-Z sequence similar to Excel. If the source file uses separate Date and Time columns, it is recommended to merge them before mapping the Date/Time field.

How to complete column mapping

Review the source CSV file and identify which columns contain date, time, count-in, and count-out values.
If the file uses separate Date and Time columns, merge them into one combined Date/Time field before mapping.
Map each source column to the correct Vemcount field in the import screen.
For the Date/Time field, enter the matching PHP time format based on the values in the file.
Check that the mapped columns follow the correct sequence and that no required values are missing.
When the mapping is confirmed, click Import Data to start the import.
Vemcount opens a status page where you can refresh the view to follow the import process.

Important: A clean source file with only the needed columns is easier to map and validate. After clicking Import Data, refresh the status page to monitor whether the import has completed successfully.
