Answer

Queue management measures how many people are waiting in a defined area and how long they wait, so staffing and service can be adjusted. It is closely tied to dwell time — the length of time people spend in a zone.

Queue length

Number of people currently in a queue zone (e.g. checkout, service desk).

Wait / dwell time

How long people remain in the zone. High dwell in a queue zone signals slow service or understaffing.

Live dwell/queue widget

Shows current queue/dwell status on a dashboard in real time so staff can react.

Dwell in non-queue zones (e.g. a product display) is a separate, positive engagement signal — longer dwell can mean higher interest. Context determines whether high dwell is good or bad.

Queue is one of the six metric categories available when building a custom report.
