1. Access Your Dashboard
Log in to Vemcount
Navigate to your dashboard view
This is where all widgets are created and managed.
2. Add a New Widget
Click the blue “+” (Add Widget) button in the top-right corner
This opens the widget selection panel (same workflow across all widget types).
3. Select “Live Inside” Widget
Choose Live Inside Widget from the list
This widget specifically shows:
Current number of visitors inside
Live occupancy (not historical trends)
In Vemcount, “Inside” is a core footfall metric alongside “In” and “Out”
4. Select Data Source (Critical Step)
Choose where the “inside” data should come from:
Available options typically include:
Location → Total occupancy across the entire site
Zones → Specific areas (e.g. shop floor, fitting rooms, waiting areas)
Best Practice:
Use Location for high-level monitoring (store capacity)
Use Zones for operational insights (e.g. overcrowded areas)
This step defines what physical space you are monitoring
5. Proceed to Widget Layout
Click Next
You will now configure how the widget appears on your dashboard.
6. Add Title & Description
Title (Required): Clearly describe the metric
Description (Optional): Add context if needed
Good examples:
“Live Store Occupancy”
“Customers Inside – Ground Floor”
“Live Visitors – Entrance Zone”
Keep titles simple and actionable, especially for operational teams.
7. Customise Appearance (Optional but Recommended)
You can adjust:
Widget size (grid layout)
Colour settings
Best Practice:
Use larger widgets for live KPIs (easy visibility)
Apply colour logic, for example:
Green = normal occupancy
Amber = approaching capacity
Red = overcrowded
Dynamic colouring can help highlight performance changes
8. Save the Widget
Click Save
The widget will now appear on your dashboard and begin displaying live data
