Access Your Dashboard
Log in to your Vemcount account
Navigate to your dashboard view
This is where all widgets are displayed and managed.
2. Add a New Widget
Click the blue “+” (Add Widget) button (top-right corner)
This opens the widget selection panel.
3. Select “Chart Widget”
Choose Chart Widget from the available options
This widget is best suited for:
Footfall trends
Conversion over time
Queue behaviour analysis
4. Select Metric(s)
Choose the data metric(s) you want to display
Examples for people counting:
Visitors Entering
Visitors Inside
Conversion Rate
Turnover (if integrated)
Queue metrics
5. Choose Chart Type (Optional but Important)
You may be able to select a visual format, such as:
Line chart (best for trends)
Bar/column chart (best for comparisons)
Area chart (best for volume emphasis)
6. Select Data Source(s)
Choose where the data comes from:
Typical options include:
Location → Entire store/site
Zone → Specific area (e.g. fitting room, entrance)
Entrance → Specific door
Group/Tag → Multiple sensors grouped together
Best Practice:
Use location-level data for overall performance
Use zone-level data for behavioural insights (e.g. queue vs shop floor)
7. Configure Time & Context (Critical Step)
Although not explicitly listed in the basic guide, charts rely on:
Time period (e.g. today, last week, custom range)
Data granularity (hourly, daily, weekly)
Best Practice:
Use hourly intervals for operational decisions
Use daily/weekly for trend analysis
8. Proceed to Widget Layout
Click Next
This takes you to the visual and naming setup
9. Add Title & Description
Title (Required): Make it clear and actionable
Description (Optional): Add context if needed
Good examples:
“Hourly Footfall – Last 7 Days”
“Conversion Rate vs Traffic – Store A”
Avoid vague titles like “Chart 1”
10. Customise Appearance (Optional)
You can adjust:
Widget size (grid layout)
Colour scheme
Best Practice:
Use larger widgets for complex charts
Keep colours consistent across dashboards (e.g. blue = footfall)
11. Save the Widget
Click Save
The widget will now appear on your dashboard
